Taking Better Photos & Video with Your Phone
Photos are a great way to show people what you do, people want to see photos on social media, they interact with them more, etc. Here are some tips to take better photos with your phone:
Find good light
Have good light. Most newer phones do a decent job with lower light, but good light gives you much crisper photos.
Don't have people looking straight into the sun, help prevent squinting in photos
Don't have the sun directly behind people
When possible, take photos of people in the shade
Avoid splotchy light (like what can happen under some trees)
Unlike what you may initially assume, cloudy days are great for photos!
Make sure your focus is on the actual subject
Use Portrait mode when it makes sense and you have enough light.
Use your feet to zoom when possible, instead of digital zoom. If you need to crop, you can do that later.
If you need photos for your website, I highly recommend hiring a photographer so that you have high-quality images. Then, make sure they're optimized for your website so it doesn’t slow down the time it takes to load the page.
