X⁴ Fitness is a group fitness gym focused on high-intensity training and strong community connection. As the brand continued to grow across multiple locations, the team wanted clearer direction around how to communicate their identity, attract new members, and retain existing ones—without losing what made the community feel personal and distinctive.
I partnered with X⁴ Fitness to develop a brand and marketing strategy grounded in real member feedback, with the goal of clarifying their positioning and supporting sustainable growth.
My Role
My work with X⁴ Fitness focused on research, synthesis, and strategic recommendations.
I collaborated directly with owner Chris Wade to understand the brand’s goals and challenges, then led a structured discovery process to gather insight from current members across multiple locations. From there, I translated qualitative and quantitative feedback into a clear brand and marketing strategy the team could actually use.
What I Worked On
Brand and marketing strategy development
Creating a comprehensive strategy document to clarify brand positioning, messaging priorities, and marketing direction.
Member research and insight gathering
Planning and facilitating a member focus group, alongside surveys distributed across three franchise locations and one affiliate location, to better understand motivations, expectations, and pain points.
Audience segmentation and personas
Developing customer personas to guide messaging and outreach, reflecting the different reasons members are drawn to X⁴ Fitness.
Brand storytelling and messaging guidance
Clarifying the brand’s core themes—fitness, community, and personal growth—and translating them into consistent messaging across marketing channels.
Community-building recommendations
Providing ideas and frameworks for strengthening member connection, including events, partnerships, and ongoing engagement initiatives.
Member engagement and retention insights
Synthesizing feedback into actionable recommendations around communication, recognition, and member experience.
SEO and local visibility support
Providing foundational SEO support, addressing website issues, and assisting with the setup and optimization of local business profiles across Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Yelp, and Apple Business Connect.
The Outcome
X⁴ Fitness received a clear, research-informed marketing strategy rooted in the lived experiences of their members. The resulting guidance helped the team better articulate what makes the brand distinctive, strengthen community engagement, and approach growth with greater clarity and consistency across locations.
